Sippin’ on Jen & Juice

Weigh-In Wednesday #65 – 150.2  (Need to work on getting back to the upper 140’s.)

I saw a Facebook post early this morning that said someone was boarding a flight to Jamaica.  Wouldn’t that be fabulous right about now??  A little reggae music with a cocktail in-hand relaxing on a hammock by the sea.  Yes, I’ll take it.  That really does sound perfect.  I wonder how I can make that happen Birmingham-style this weekend?  Maybe I can listen to some reggae Pandora on my iPhone and mix up something yummy to sip on with coconut rum while at the pool (with SPF 5,000 slathered on, of course).  This is definitely in my future.

I had an emoticon intervention a few days ago from friends at work.  If you don’t know what those are (and there are actually people who don’t… ahem, JFo), click here.  I love that you can use symbols to express a feeling or a mood easily, so I am defending myself on this one.  I know that emoticons are also popular with the under 18 crowd but that doesn’t matter to me.  If I want to smile with some colon and parentheses action, by God I’ll do it.  :)

I have been a little worried about my knee for the past week or two.  It’s not that it’s hurting again, but it is unusually sore.  I’ve cut back on my running a great deal by using the Arc Machine in its place, but that doesn’t seem to be helping.  If it continues, I’ll probably make an appointment to go and see Dr. Fagan again next week just as a preventative measure.  I definitely want to nip this in the bud before I start training for my next Half Ironman in early July.

Group poll time.  Several people have told me not to refer to my future home as an alley house.  :)  They say it sounds ghetto.  But that’s what it is… a house in an alley.  Some suggestions have been to call it a guest house (but I am not a guest) or a garage apartment (and there is no garage).  Alley house just seems like the logical thing to call it.  It’s too big to call a studio, and not quite large enough to call a real house.  So it needs a good adjective.  Any ideas?
